| November 5, 2009 24-hour gambling coming to Twin River
|
(NECN/WPRI: Lincoln, R.I.) - There will be around-the-clock gambling at Twin River slot parlor in Lincoln.
State lottery officials approved the extended hours to generate millions of extra dollars for the state.
Twin River filed for bankruptcy protection in June. It is the Ocean State's third-largest source of tax income.
"We will monitor the level of activity, the cost effectiveness, as well as the patron interest level in staying those wee hours of the morning," Twin River spokeswoman Patti Doyle said.
There is 24-hour gambling at the facility, but only on weekends and holidays. This new schedule, which will take effect in about two weeks, opens the building to slot players all day and night throughout the week.
