(NECN) - Today's drop in unemployment claims, and an upbeat forecast from Cisco gives investors new reason for optimism.
The Dow Jones industrial average closes at nearly 1,006-- jumping almost 204 points-- two percent.
The Nasdaq Composite finishes at 2,105-- gaining nearly 50-- almost two and a half percent.
The S-and-P 500 ends at more than 1,066-- rising 20-- nearly two percent.
Regionally -- Bloomberg's New England Index climbs six and three quarter points.
The New England Tech Stock Index goes up almost three and a half.
