| November 2, 2009 Main bursts, sends water shooting skyward
|
(NECN: Van Nuys, California) - A water main break sent water towering in California, resulting in a steady stream of water running down the street.
The water vaulted straight into the air at an intersection, reaching well beyond the height of the residential building next to it which held, among other businesses, a Boston Market.
At times, it appeared as if the water level was dipping, but it would then shoot right back up.
According to KABC.com, the 54-inch water main is used to move recycled water.
There is no telling how many thousands of gallons of water were sent down the street.
No immediate reason was given for the incident.
