July 4, 2009 Car crash kills 3 in Walpole, MA

(NECN: Walpole, MA) - The Walpole Police Department is reporting that 3 people were killed early Saturday morning in an accident on East Street, just beyond the intersection of High Plain Street.

Responding units observed a singer car accident, a 1998 Jeep Cherokee that had traveled off the roadway and into a tree.

There were four occupants, none of which appearance have been wearing seatbelts.

The operator, Jason Wayne Spurlin, age 31 of 310 North K Street, Lake Worth, FL was transported to a Boston Hospital via the Walpole Fire Department Ambulance.

Anna Dubois, age 20 of 10 Hickory Lane, Walpole, MA was transported to a Boston hospital via Med Flight helicopter where she was pronounced dead.

Amanda Murray, age 23 of 38 Miller St, Medfield, MA was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nicholas Kelly, age 20 of 10 Riverside Place, Walpole, MA was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the cause of the accident and the operator, Jason Wayne Spurlin has been charged with 3 counts of motor vehicle homicide by OUI and will be arraigned in Wrentham District Court Monday morning
