Parts of Busch Gardens Tampa were evacuated and closed off after an orangutan escaped its enclosure.
Guests were uploading videos of the great ape climbing a tree on Friday. The orangutan was eventually tranquilized and returned to its enclosure. No injuries were reported to park guests or employees.
Jason Mayhew of Orlando told the Tampa Bay Times that Busch Gardens staff members did a great job keeping people informed when the orangutan was loose, but that no one was in danger.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that it sent officers to the park.
A juvenile orangutan escaped from an enclosure at the park last month, and that animal was recaptured without incident.
