A five-alarm barn fire in Lebanon, Maine, spread to an adjacent home but there were no reports of injuries.

The fire was reported just after midnight Friday.

The blaze was elevated to five alarms because of the remote location and the need for additional tankers.

The homeowners' son, Matthew Sanborn, tells WGME-TV his father and stepmother woke up to the smell of smoke and three people who were inside at the time made it out safely. Sanborn was at work.

He says there is a significant damage to the home. He says his father and stepmother just moved to Maine from Texas a few months ago.

The cause is under investigation.
