The Be Like Brit (BLB) organization will be hosting a donation drive Saturday, October 8 and Monday, October 10 in Worcester, Mass. to help pay for relief efforts in Haiti after Hurricane Matthew.
Community members are asked to come to the Operations Center at 66 Pullman Street (next to PriceChopper) to drop off donations.
Monetary donations will be used to rebuild homes, repair roofs and replace household items that were damaged during the hurricane.
There will be a shipping container as well where people can drop off peanut butter, canned tuna, channed chicken, canned spam, canned ham, powdered milk, Tang, pasta, children's vitamins, over-the-counter pain relievers, towels, and bars of soap. These supplies will ship to Haiti once the airport and roadways are open again.
The above items will be the only items BLB will accept at this time due to shipping costs.
BLB said, "We are overwhelmed and so grateful for the response we have received so far and the generous donations that have been coming in us to help with BLB's hurricane relief efforts!"
BLB is an orphanage in Haiti started in honor of Britney Gengel, who was 19-years-old when she died during the 2010 earthquake.
