Brockton, Mass. Man Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Roommate

A 29-year-old Massachusetts man was charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his roommate, according to the Brockton Police Department.

Jeffrey Taylor Jr. is accused of stabbing his 56-year-old roommate during an argument, authorities said. The victim was able to escape from Taylor and walked nearly a quarter of a mile before he reached a Sunoco gas station on Belmont Street to ask for help.

While being treated by fire crews, the victim told officials that Taylor allegedly threatened to kill him if he did not leave their home. The victim was then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for his non-life threatening injuries.

Taylor was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and threatening to commit a crime. He is being held on $2,000 bail.

Details on what led up to the stabbing were not immediately clear.

The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at the Brockton District Court. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
