Mild Start, Cool Finish to Weekend

Temperatures start off mild this weekend across New England, but we cool significantly by Sunday.

A gusty southwest wind brings in the Saturday warmth, with highs in the 50s and 60s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a few spot showers.

During the morning those will be mostly in Southeastern New England, particularly the Cape and the Islands, and across the mountains of Northern New England.

During the afternoon it’s really just a few very hit or miss showers here and there. The vast majority of the day will be dry.

Overnight temperatures drop into the 30s and 40s with partly to mostly cloudy skies.

A second disturbance will clip far Southern New England early on Sunday, so a few more showers are possible there during the morning. Clouds will then give way to more sun over the course of the day as winds turn to the northwest and cooler air flows in. Highs will only be in the 40s!

Monday is also cool, but partly cloudy, with highs in the 40s and 50s.

Our next more widespread risk of showers arrives Tuesday into Wednesday. That system may even end as snow in parts of Northern New England.
