The Portland, Maine, fire department confirmed there is a fire at an apartment building on 40 Deering Avenue.
The fire is reported on all floors and the building is being evacuated.
Deering Avenue is closed from Park Avenue to Congress Street while crews continue to put out fire.
A spokesman from the Portland Fire Department said the fire has been knocked down and that it appears to have started in the back of the building and moved to front.
There are no reported serious injuries.
