Police say they tracked down a man who attempted to rob a Vermont post office at knifepoint.
Swanton Village Police received a call to respond to the local post office on Tuesday afternoon. They said a man wearing dark clothing and a mask tossed a bag to a postal employee and demanded cash. The employee did not hand over any cash.
The man became more agitated, but eventually left on a mountain bike. Police tracked him to his home, identifying him as 31-year-old Matthew Greenan of Swanton.
Greenan was in custody on an attempted robbery charge. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
