Man Found Dead at Transfer Station

Body of Fred Press, 72, found Monday night, according to a report

A 72-year-old man who failed to return from a trip to the Warren, Rhode Island, transfer station was found dead there hours after the facility had closed.

WJAR-TV reports police found Fred Press dead at the station Monday evening. His daughter, Maggie Dupont, said he had gone there around 3 p.m. to dump some brush. The facility closes at 3:30 p.m.

Press's son went to the station around 7 p.m. and saw a vehicle's lights. Dupont says police responded and found her father dead. She says he may have suffered a heart attack.

It's not clear why the transfer station closed while the man was still there.

Warren Town Council President Joseph DePasquale says town officials are waiting for more information from police.
