A sinkhole that opened up along Route 3 in Campton, New Hampshire, caused officials to close the road and detour traffic Sunday evening.
According to the Lakes Region Fire Dispatch, a section of Route 3 sank on Sunday, causing the road to close.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation was working to resolve the issue, but detours were set up at Route 3 at the 93 and Fairgrounds Road area, as well as Route 3 at the Blair Road intersection.
The location of the actual sinkhole is in Cook's Corner, just north of Livermore Falls. It affected the entire width of the roadway, officials say.
Officers are in the area to assist travelers.
New Hampshire DOT tweeted just before 9 p.m. Sunday that all lanes of traffic have been reopened.
