3 Arrested in Sex Offender's Murder, Robbery

Police in Providence, Rhode Island have arrested three people in connection with the murder and robbery of a 68-year-old sex offender last month.

Jared Jackson, 20, and Thomas Rose, 22, were arrested Thursday and charged with murder for allegedly assaulting Milton Lyles on the 300 Block of Broad Street in Providence May 19. Lyles, a convicted sex offender, died of his injuries on June 13 and an autopsy ruled that his death was as a result of the assault.

Also arrested was David Durrett, 31, who allegedly went through Lyles' pockets and stole a cell phone and cash from him. He is charged with larceny from a person.
