Local Cyber Security Expert Says Preparation Is Key as U.S. Warns of Possible Russian Cyber Attacks
The U.S. is now warning and preparing for a possible cyber attack from Russia. Local cyber security expert Peter Tran says that threat increased after NATO placed international sanctions on Vladimir Putin. Tran says as companies begin to protect themselves, you might see a slowdown in online payments or credit card transactions — and that’s normal. He says the worst-case scenario would be if Russia attacks critical infrastructure like the power grid, health care or our transportation systems. While that is a possibility, Tran says it’s not time to panic. Preparation is key, however.
