A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her mother and her daughter on Wednesday morning in Stoneham, Massachusetts.

Police are investigating after a woman reportedly stabbed her mother and her adult daughter in Stoneham, Massachusetts, on Wednesday morning.

Stoneham police said they received a call shortly after 8 a.m. for a reported stabbing on San Jose Terrace.

When they arrived, officers found that two women had been stabbed. Both women were taken to an area hospital and are expected to survive.

A third woman is under arrest, police said. She was also taken to an area hospital as precaution.

The suspected attacker stabbed her mother and her child, according to officials. None of the individuals involved have been identified by police.

Neighbors said it was jarring to see police and ambulances in the area on Wednesday morning.

“It’s really sad, but I think it’s less scary when it’s something within the household. It’s not really like a threat to everybody else, I guess," said Sara Lapery, who lives nearby. "Families are kind of going through a lot right now.”

The investigation remains active.
