Five residents at a senior living facility in Revere, Massachusetts have died, with four deaths confirmed as cases of the novel coronavirus.
The fifth death at the Jack Satter House has not yet been confirmed as case of COVID-19, according to Hebrew SeniorLife, operator of the facility. Eight other residents were hospitalized.
Hebrew SeniorLife said other residents at the facility had been quarantined and that visitation was being restricted to essential care only. Meals, groceries and other essentials were being delivered to residents daily, the organization said.
Any visitors allowed inside the facility must have their temperatures taken.
“Our hearts are with the seniors, families, and employees who are being affected by COVID-19,” Hebrew SeniorLife said.
Revere has been hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak. On Monday, the city had been alerted of 113 cases by state authorities. That number jumped from just eight cases a week prior.
