An 89-year-old man missing from Weare, New Hampshire, has been found dead near his parked car at an incineration plant parking lot in Haverhill, Massachusetts, state police announced Friday morning.

Gerard Lemay had last been seen at his residence on Tuesday at approximately 5 a.m., according to police.

New Hampshire State Police issued a silver alert Thursday in an attempt to locate the Weare resident, saying they believed he was traveling in his yellow 2008 Hyundai Accent with New Hampshire license plate 2647932 and that he may have been seen on Route 25 in Plymouth, New Hampshire, on Wednesday.

Massachusetts State Police said Friday morning that Lemay's car was found in a parking lot at Covanta Haverhill, located at 100 Recovery Way in Haverhill, but said Lemay had not yet been located.

A short time later, it was announced his body had been found outdoors in the vicinity of his car.

A preliminary investigation by Haverhill police and state police has revealed no evidence of foul play in the death of Lemay, who police said had Alzheimer's and Dementia.

Police say Lemay's death is not considered suspicious, unless new evidence develops indicating otherwise.

Officials thanked the public for sharing Lemay's photo and information while police in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire looked for him.
