(NECN) - Online file sharing site Limewire has been shut down following a copyright lawsuit.
The move comes more than five months after a U.S. judge ruled in favor of 13 music industry companies.
Limewire.com has posted a legal notice on its home page stating it was "under a court-ordered injunction to stop distributing and supporting its file-sharing software."
This comes after a 4-year legal battle between Limewire and the music industry. Limewire and its founder have already been found liable for potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.
