Marshfield, Mass. Student Arrested for Threatening to Commit Murder

(NECN) - A 17-year-old is under arrest in Marshfield, Mass., accused of threatening to kill a fellow student at Marshfield High School.

Police say Kyle Stockford threatened to kill someone via social media. He was arrested Tuesday and he's being charged with promotion of anarchy and two counts of threats to commit murder.

Marshfield Public Schools released the following:

The administration of the Marshfield Public Schools received notification today from the Marshfield Police Department that a Marshfield High School student was charged for allegedly threatening to kill a fellow student at Marshfield High School. In addition he allegedly made threats via social media to Marshfield High School.

The student is not currently in school and the Marshfield Public Schools and the Marshfield Police Department continue to work collaboratively to investigate the alleged threats and to ensure the care, welfare, safety, and security of the school community. Any student who may feel adversely affected by this incident may seek the assistance of guidance staff in our schools. We will keep you informed with additional pertinent information as it becomes available.
