Two trucks struck overpass bridges in unrelated crashes on Boston's Storrow Drive Friday.
A box truck hit the Longfellow Bridge overpass on Storrow Drive eastbound around noon, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. The right lane is closed and drivers should expect delays in the area.
The truck was marked with the logo of Trillium Brewing, makers of a double IPA called "Storrowed." The description of the season beer on the website says it "serves as a PSA to warn against the Boston phenomenon of lodging a box truck under a low clearance overpass on Storrow Drive."
It was the second "storrowing" of the day - in the first incident, an overheight tractor-trailer struck at the Bowker Overpass on Storrow Drive westbound around 6:30 a.m., leading to traffic delays.
No injuries were reported.
The vehicle is expected to be there for some time as Massachusetts State Police processes the scene and the cleanup begins.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation had arrived at the scene by 7:30 a.m. and begun inspecting the bridge. A large tow truck had also arrived at the scene.
