Two people have been taken into custody after a search for armed carjacking suspects set off a manhunt near the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton and Canton, Massachusetts, on Wednesday.
According to Randolph police, the initial carjacking report was out of their city on Tuesday. The victim reported that he had been carjacked by three people, one armed with a gun and another armed with a knife, on Francis Drive.
The stolen vehicle was spotted a day later on North Street in Randolph. Randolph officers started to give chase, but backed down when the driver refused to stop, driving recklessly into Milton.
The same vehicle was then spotted in Milton by Massachusetts State Police. The driver again failed to stop, and then three people jumped out of the vehicle and took off on foot on Brush Hill Road, near Blue Hill Avenue in Milton.
This set off a search near the heavily wooded Blue Hills Reservation. Randolph police say one person was captured almost immediately. A second was later taken into custody with help from a K9 team. The third remains at large.
The two suspects have been charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle. They have not been publicly identified.

The investigation into the armed carjacking continues.
"I don't think about it because I have dogs with me all the time," said Andreya Moore, who lives at the apartment complex where the carjacking took place. "I always think I'm protected. I will probably lock my doors now."
There was a heavy police presence near the Blue Hills Ski Area Wednesday while the search was underway, and police cruisers were seen along Route 138.
Canton police initially said the search concerned a carjacking on Green Street in Milton. On Wednesday Canton police were helping with the search near the intersection of Green Street, which travels into Canton, and Route 138.
