Boston firefighters battled a blaze at a large abandoned building in the city's Dorchester neighborhood early Sunday morning.
According to the fire department, crews arrived shortly before 7 a.m. at the building fire in the 600 block of Columbia Road and found heavy fire engulfing the second floor and attic.
Given the heavy volume of fire throughout the top two floors, crews attacked the fire from all sides and from the adjacent roof next door to quickly stop it from spreading.
No one was injured, and no one was displaced, the fire department said.
The fire collapsed part of the roof, and firefighters had to be cautious of the numerous slate tiles flying off the roof as they continued to work and chase any hot spots in the eaves.
The Boston Fire Department shared several videos and pictures on social media showing flames raging from the building.
