Woman, 65, dies after being stabbed at Boston park

Boston police identified the woman who died after being stabbed at Ramsay Park as 65-year-old Celia Simmons

A woman who was stabbed multiple times Saturday afternoon at a public park in Boston died from her injuries, according to police.

Officers first were called about 12:48 p.m. for a person stabbed at Ramsay Park, on Washington Street near the Roxbury/South End line, and found a woman with several stab wounds, police said.

Boston EMS rendered aid to the woman and she was rushed to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries at 11:40 p.m., police announced Sunday.

Police identified her Monday as Boston resident Celia Simmons, 65. They had initially said the woman who was killed was 60.

Police haven't announced any arrests or shared information on a possible suspect. They were still investigating what happened as of Monday. Anyone with information was urged to contact the department's homicide unit at 617-343-4470.
