Hartford, Connecticut, firefighters are making a surprise visit to an 8-year-old girl they rescued from a burning three-story apartment building in the city's South End last month.
The girl has asked to meet the firefighters who saved her. She was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Hartford Fire Department says firefighters will surprise the family Saturday at the Hartford Hilton, where they are still living.
The fire occurred Nov. 14 in a building on Hamilton Street near Zion Street. It spread to porches of a nearby building but was contained there.
Smoke was seen for blocks and Hamilton Street was closed near the fire for emergency vehicles. No major injuries were reported.
