Heat Wave Continues With Hot and Hazy Monday

Day two of the heat wave continues today as a sub-tropical high pressure located offshore of the Carolinas continues to push hot and humid weather into New England. It will be sunny and hot with highs reaching into the low 90s across interior New England.

Many locations will flirt with or tie record highs. Air quality alerts are up across southeastern New England. Limiting outdoor activities is advised.

A sultry night is ahead with lows remaining in the 70s south and upper 60s north overnight. A cold front traverses across New England tomorrow, bringing a welcomed break in the summer-like heat. The front will bring some showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon.

We’re expecting slightly cooler highs than today with some clouds around. Overall, we’re expecting highs to crest into the upper 80s to low 90s.

An area of high pressure out of the Canadian province of Ontario noses into the region on Wednesday, returning drier and more seasonable weather to New England.

Expect sunny skies and highs reaching into the upper 70s. Dry and pleasant weather continues on Thursday with highs cresting again into the upper 70s as high pressure shifts to our east. A warm front approaches from the west on Friday.

Overall, expect mostly sunny skies with highs near 70 degrees. Cloudy with some showers around on Saturday as warm front pushes across New England. Highs will reach into the low to mid 70s.
