The holidays can be a stressful time, so we’re going to take a look at some great deals and advice in shopping, travel and much more in a special series running until Christmas.
Reporter Ally Donnelly joined us from Boston’s Logan Airport, where she got some great advice on how to save on a flight and the right choices to make.
She was joined by Heidi Sharry, Vice President of Operations at Quinwell Travel.
Sharry said that while there aren’t usually discounts for flight prices during the holiday season, there are sometimes seats available on the holiday itself. However, it would still be at a premium.
She said the cheapest way to go about getting a flight is to call a local agency.
She also added that travel insurance is definitely worth it because one never knows if something will happen. However, it doesn’t always help in the case of a cancelled flight.
She also recommends checking the status of the flight online a day before, getting to the airport early, properly labeling bags and following security rules.
