Maine's largest utility says it's going to take a "multiple-day" effort to restore power to tens of thousands

Maine saw some of the highest snowfall in the region and dealt with multiple power outages Friday morning.

New Englanders are dealing with snow cleanup, icy roads and power outages after Thursday's winter storm.

Plow trucks hit the roads Friday morning to clean up roads across the region. Residents in New Hampshire and Maine are digging their way out of over a foot of snow in some areas.

Maine saw some of the highest snowfall in the region and dealt with multiple power outages Friday morning. More than 100,000 homes and business were left without power. Standish and Naples saw 27 inches of snow from this storm, while there were 25 inches in Parsonfield and 22.7 inches in Hollis.

Central Maine Power says it's going to take a "mutiple-day" effort to restore power.

New Hampshire and Vermont also had plenty of snow but were largely spared from widespread power outages.

Some in Massachusetts were spared much of the snow, but residents in areas such as Fitchburg will be digging their way out of 10 inches of snow.

The MBTA reports that the commuter rail is running on time Friday despite the overnight weather. Trains were idling overnight and the platforms have been treated with salt to prepare for the morning commute.
