A man has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing that occurred in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on Friday.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced Saturday that 31-year-old Tyler Dow Baglini was taken into custody shortly after the incident and held overnight at Saint Luke's Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
According to officials, New Bedford Police responded around 4:52 p.m. Friday to 86 Atlantic Street for a reported stabbing and arrived to find a 31-year-old woman suffering from apparent stab wounds.
The victim, later identified as Kerry Fidalgo, of New Bedford, was rushed to Saint Luke's Hospital where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
Baglini is expected to be charged with murder at his arraignment Monday morning in New Bedford District Court. It wasn't immediately clear if he had obtained an attorney.
