Two men have been arrested on murder charges in the shooting death of a man last month in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood.
Xavier Pena-Guerrero, 21, of Boston, was arrested Thursday evening in Dorchester, the Boston Police Department said Friday. Later in the day, police said 24-year-old Orlando Soto of Boston had been arrested Friday morning in Newport, Rhode Island.
Both men were wanted on murder warrants in the July 30 killing of Moises Ortiz-Santiago at the intersection of Weldon and Quincy streets in Roxbury, police said. Pena-Guerrero is also being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Pena-Guerrero is due to face the charges in Roxbury District Court. The warrant for Soto was out of the same court. It wasn't immediately clear if either man had an attorney who could speak to their arrests.
Ortiz-Santiago was rushed to a hospital after the shooting at roughly 11 p.m. It was one of several violent incidents on Sunday night in Boston, including another deadly shooting on the Dorchester/Roxbury line, a shooting in Dorchester and a triple stabbing also in Dorchester.
