Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, are investigating after a person was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday night.
Police responded to the scene at 492 Gorham St., where a vehicle was determined to have failed to negotiate a turn out of the Lowell Connector, crashing into a well.
The crash resulted in the death of Joseph Zabawa, 32, of Dracut. Initial Investigation shows speed as a factor in the crash.
No other vehicles were involved and a state police cruiser sustained damage from flying debris.
The incident remains under investigation by crash reconstruction specialists.
