A driver police say struck and killed a 73-year-old woman Saturday in Everett, Massachusetts, has been arrested.
Sarah Nason of Everett was hit just before 5 p.m. on Pleasant Street near the intersection with Broadway. She was taken to Whidden Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.
According to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office, 31-year-old Jonathan McNeil of Boston's Charlestown neighborhood was under the influence of drugs when he hit Nason.
McNeil is charged with operating under the influence of drugs and causing serious bodily injury, as well as possession of a Class B substance.
Everett Police are working with Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office to investigate.
