(NECN) - There's no official parenting handbook for the countless scenarios a family encounters day in and day out.
Our guest delves into one situation facing many moms and dads these days.
Co-author of “When Will my Grownup Kid Grow Up? Loving and Understanding your Emerging Adult," Dr. Jeffrey Jensen Arnett, joins NECN with insight.
The book explores five features of emerging adulthood. Those themes are identity exploration, instability, self-focus, feeling in-between and sense of possibilities.
Arnett says these five are explored in the book because these features are of those who he says aren’t adolescents, but not quite young adults.
He said that money and education play a big factor, and that more kids are staying in school longer to prepare for the modern economy.
“We say 30 is the new 20, and it’s true,” said Arnett.
