Commuter Rail Station Reopens After Fatal Train Crash

It was a rough morning commute Thursday for riders who commute on the MBTA commuter rail Providence line after a man was hit and killed by a train Wednesday.

The Mansfield commuter lot was closed and no trains were stopping there during the morning. Many trains were deyaled throughout the morning.

The Mansfield Train Station reopened around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Police are still investigating the death and shut down the station Wednesday. The victim's name has not been released.

Commuter rail operator Keolis says there was a connecting bus service to Sharon, but there's going to be limited parking at Mansfield.

Keolis says commuters should go to the Route 128 parking garage to catch the inbound commuter rail from Westwood.

Earlier Thursday, all Providence line passengers were told to expect delays that could have extended into the evening commute.
