Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts, say a former HVAC worker used his uniform to walk through a school without issue and stole cash from a teacher’s purse.

Police in Cohasset, Massachusetts, say a former HVAC worker used his uniform to walk through a school without issue and stole cash from a teacher's purse.

Anthony Binsfield, 31, was arrested following the events at Deer Hill School Thursday afternoon.

Police say Binsfield is a former employee of the Huntington Control HVAC Company and told the school office he was at the school to check on a heating issue.

An audit of all visitors of the school was completed after the cash was discovered to be missing. Police say that's when they learned Binsfield lied about his employment.

Binsfield will be arraigned Friday and is being held on $500 bail.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Barbara Cataldo says a new protocol is already in place, helping to make sure no imposter or any unwelcomed visitor will get in the school again.

"I've been to every single class, pre-K to eighth grade, talking to teachers and sharing the protocol, making sure that everybody is working together," she said.
