A 44-year-old woman is facing charges after she allegedly ran over two women with her car and then fled the accident scene on foot.
Around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, police in Sutton, Massachusetts, said they received numerous 911 calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle on Reservoir Avenue and West Third Street.
According to police, four women were talking in the street when the conversation became contentious and they began arguing. One of the women then attempted to drive away in her motor vehicle and ran over two of the other women.
One victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance and the second was flown to a hospital by medical helicopter.
The driver allegedly grabbed several bags from her car and fled on foot. She was later located about a quarter mile away by a K9 from the Douglas Police Department.
The driver, Stacey A. Piercey, is charged with two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and operating to endanger.
Piercey was held at the police station Wednesday night. She was due to be arraigned Thursday in Uxbridge District Court.
