Officials were called upon to help free a horse in distress on Wednesday afternoon in Grafton, Massachusetts.
The horse, named "Babe," was in need of assistance after becoming stuck in a fence and stranded out in the snow at a stable on Upton Street.
A local veterinarian joined fire and police responders in the rescue efforts. They were forced to sedate the horse before removing its leg from between two fence links.
The horse was extricated safely. The veterinarian treated the horse at the scene. The horse was able to stand on all four legs after receiving treatment.
