A Maryland man is set to be in court Wednesday after allegedly trying to run down an officer in Massachusetts and leading police on a pursuit.

Robert Haught, 42, is charged with attempted murder and has been held without bail since mid-august.

Police say a pursuit ensued where Haught allegedly rammed into a police cruiser and continued.

During the pursuit, police say Haught drove at an officer directing traffic at the Burlington Mall. That officer opened fire, but did not hit anyone.

Haught also collided with two other cars.

One woman in a Toyota Prius was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and her two children in the car were not hurt, police said.

He was caught after trying to flee on foot.

Police found a stack of credit cards and high end electronics in the car
