A man was killed in a house fire early Wednesday morning in Westfield, Massachusetts, according to masslive.com.
Firefighters were called to a home on Family Lane just after 1 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the home engulfed in flames, chief Andy Hart said.
Hart says crews were able to knock down the blaze within an hour, but a man caught inside the single-story ranch suffered fatal injuries.
According to Hart, the home was deemed a total loss. The roof collapsed in the fire and the home's exterior sustained heavy charring.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The name of the victim has not been made known.
