Police Seek Suspect Who Committed Lewd Act at Church

Police say a man broke into a Cambridge, Massachusetts, church and wore a priest’s robes for 45 minutes before stripping naked and performing a sexual act on the altar.

Police say a man broke into a Cambridge, Massachusetts, church and wore a priest's robes for 45 minutes before stripping naked and performing a sexual act on the altar.

Police spokesman Jeremy Warnick says the man entered St. Sava Serbian Church through an unlocked door in the early morning hours of Sept. 29. He says church members discovered the incident after looking at security footage to determine who had broken in and stolen money earlier in the day.

The suspect appears to be in his twenties and was wearing glasses.

Church board member Alexander Pogorzelski says the man also sat in the priest's and bishop's chair and left behind a mess of soda and wine.

St. Sava is now keeping doors locked between services.
