A local television icon says he's still waiting for his medical marijuana card in Massachusetts to help him cope with pain from years of surgeries, according to a report.
Bob Lobel, a former sportscaster for WBZ in Boston, says he turned to medical marijuana as a way to deal with the pain without prescription opioid painkillers, the Boston Herald reports.
When it came to opioid painkillers, Lobel told the Herald that "the biggest thing I was worried about was addiction," but added that the side effects made it hard to lead a normal life.
The Herald reports Lobel was able to get a medical marijuana card in Oregon, where his daughter resides, but is still waiting for state approval in Massachusetts.
