A shooting occurred in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
After initially calling his injuries life-threatening, police now say the victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen in the shooting around 2:30 p.m. at 34 Fessenden Street.
Police arrested 22-year-old Patrick Bishop of Boston. A backpack with a gun inside was recovered. In addition to assault with intent to murder, Bishop faces firearm charges.
