Snowy Footprints Lead Police to Robbery Suspect

Jonathan Campbell of Worcester, Mass. charged with assault and battery, unarmed robbery

Police in Worcester, Massachusetts, were able to track down a robbery suspect early Monday -- thanks to fresh footprints in the snow.

Officers were called to Three G's Sports Bar at 152 Millbury St. at approximately 1 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

An employee stated that a man jumped over the counter at the bar, and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of money. The employee was placing money in a bag when the incident occurred.

Police were given a detailed description of the suspect, and the stolen bag of money.

Outside the back door, officers found fresh footprints in the snow, and the tracks were consistent with someone running, based on the distance between the steps.

Authorities followed the footprints to 8 Meade St. The door of the apartment was slightly open, and in plain view, police could see the bag that was stolen in the robbery.

Jonathan Campbell, 31, was placed under arrest, and charged with assault and battery and unarmed robbery.
