A Weymouth, Massachusetts firefighter has been honored for saving a retired firefighter who collapsed in a supermarket.
According to the Patriot Ledger, Matthew Menz didn't know it at the time, but the man he saved was retired Weymouth firefighter John Mullin.
On Aug. 19, Menz was shopping at Trucchi's supermarket in Abington when he saw Mullin collapse on the floor.
Menz rushed to his aid and began performing CPR. Later, Mullin's pulse returned.
Mullin was taken to South Shore Hospital and it was determined that he had suffered a seizure.
On Thursday, Menz was presented with the Robert G. Clark Award by Weymouth Fire Chief Keith Stark for his action while off duty.
