A street in Milford, Massachusetts, was shut down Monday morning as officers secured a crime scene, police said.
Purchase Street between Glines Avenue and Mechanic Street was closed to traffic, according to Milford police.
Residents were asked to plan their commute accordingly, before the road reopened later Monday morning.
In a press release issued later Monday, Milford police said the incident began when they received several 911 calls shortly after 4 a.m. for an unknown emergency in the area of Purchase Street. First responders found a male lying on the ground bleeding from a laceration and began providing medical aid.
The male was taken by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, where he is in stable but serious condition.
State and local police are continuing to investigate.
