Police in Weymouth, Massachusetts, say a person is in custody after a standoff Wednesday at a Putnam Street home.
Authorities had warned the public to stay away from the area. Police told NBC10 Boston the suspect was believed to be armed and had pointed what appeared to be a gun at officers.
Negotiations with the person inside the home were ongoing Wednesday afternoon, but police said around 6:30 p.m. that the suspect had been taken into custody.
Police didn't share more about what led to the standoff, including if anyone was hurt.
A Massachusetts State Police bomb squad was involved in the response, a representative said.
