A person was hospitalized after being shot Friday in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.
The Boston Police Department said the shooting happened on Oakley Street shortly after 9 p.m.
Authorities did not say whether any arrests had been made. Police said Saturday the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
NBC10 Boston spoke to a young woman who says she heard several gunshots. She says she probably hears that once a week, but the crime scene usually isn’t right outside her house, saying, "The shots then we heard someone crying person so we came outside to see if anyone got hurt.”
“It’s not a pleasant sight. Nothing new. Not in these parts." she added.
No further information was immediately available. An investigation is active and ongoing.
