The city of Providence, Rhode Island, saw a violent weekend, with two people fatally shot and another injured by gunfire, WJAR-TV reports.
The deadly shooting happened on Hathaway Street on Saturday morning, just near the Cranston line.
Police on Monday identified Sreylakh Ros, 30, and Brian Fernandez, 29, as the two people killed inside of a car. They said this shooting was a targeted attack.
According to WJAR-TV, the victims were parents to four children — two of which they had together.
A day later, Vladimir Rodriguez, 18, was a passenger in a car that was shot at multiple times in the north end of Providence, according to WJAR-TV. He was hit in the leg and taken to the hospital by the driver of that car.
It's unclear at this time if anyone was arrested in the two shootings.
Police said Monday that the trend of violent crimes happening in the capital city are similar to other major cities, such as Chicago and Miami. They said they will do "everything to ensure that criminals that want to commit murders and violent crime in the city are held accountable," according to WJAR-TV.
