Average highs should be in the upper 30s while average lows are in the low 20s across New England and our temperatures were pretty close this afternoon.
Although with a gusty west wind, it did feel cooler. The breeze sticks around for tonight into Thursday, but won’t be as strong as today. This evening will be mainly dry, with a few flurries still across the mountains and ski areas. Fresh powder has fallen across ski areas over the last two days, so this makes for great conditions to begin 2020!
Overnight tonight we fall to the 20s and low 30s, so watch out for patchy black ice into Thursday morning. By afternoon, we reach the low 40s to mid 40s south and the 30s north. A little warming trend continues into the first part of the weekend.
Friday will bring us some milder air but also scattered rain.
The showers will march in from southwest to northeast and will even reach northern New England by late Friday. It will not be a washout at this time, but scattered showers continue through Saturday and early Sunday. Saturday’s highs reach the low 50s south, and 40s north, making it messy across all of the northeast with the snowpack and rain on top.
We cool to the upper 30s by Sunday with a chance for light snow showers as our wind turns from the northwest. Our jet stream pattern continues to stay more zonal instead of amplified, so multiple waves of low pressure will move through our area next week.
The timing and track are both still uncertain for the wintry mix chance Monday into Tuesday, and a larger system on Wednesday. Temperatures will be right on the line of cold air north and milder air south.

That’s why highs remain in the 30s for the rest of the 10-day forecast.
