Rhode Island Man Pleads Guilty to Heroin Trafficking, Forfeits $380K, Rolex Watch

32-year-old Neftali Reyes of Providence agreed to forfeit more than $380K and a Rolex watch valued at $39K

A Providence, Rhode Island, man has pleaded guilty to federal drug charges following an undercover investigation that authorities say yielded the seizure of more than $380,000 in cash from heroin sales.

The Rhode Island U.S. attorney's office said Thursday that 32-year-old Neftali Reyes, who goes by "Popi," pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin and two counts of distribution of heroin.

He agreed to forfeit the cash and a Rolex watch valued at $39,000 that was seized by authorities.

An undercover East Providence police officer arranged with Reyes by phone to buy heroin on at least two occasions in July. At the time of his arrest outside his home in August, Reyes dropped a shoebox that contained $37,000 in cash.

His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 3.
